Crochet Wave Stitch.

GIVE ME A WAVE

I love it, Wave blanket. This blanket is from Red Heart it's a freebie. We like free patterns and what's even better is there is a free video tutorial (see below)

I have to say I love Mike's video tutorials, I find them really easy to follow and I'm teaching myself to read patterns while I'm watching the videos as well. Sometimes a pattern to me doesn't make sense until I have watched the video. So there's one of my tips, watch a video at the same time as reading the pattern.

These are close ups of my work. I decided to create this with anyone in mind as I plan to try and sell this blanket in the Autumn. (let me know if you're interested) This has a set of neutral colours and so will go with most peoples rooms. It's a decent size for going over the back of a three seater or popping over your legs to keep you warm on those chilly Autumnal nights.

I decided to add tassels as it looked unfinished to me with nothing on the ends. These can be taken off, but I prefer them on. The tassels are a nice mixture of the colours used in the blanket. They are substantial tassel to me and don't feel straggly at all.

Crochet V stitch

MORNING
So how was your weekend? it was very soggy here with a little sun in between. Monday was Much better I, got to do a little shopping, you know bread, milk etc and then up date my husband's new blog (I help out as I have only a fraction more knowledge) Mike's Hobbies it's called if you're interested, or maybe your hubby's would be lol. Any way I digress.

So here is a blanket I finished was it last year? or was it this year? I'm not sure one year flows into the next for me. Does that happen to you as well? or is it just me?

I told you you would see more of Freddy! I have to say I LOVE LOVE LOVE this stitch. I have included the tutorial I used below, so do watch it if you fancy learning or refreshing on this one.

Above is a close up, I have had lots of people wanting to know how I did this one, they're loving the colour combination as well as the stitch. I used another lot of  STYLECRAFT wool. This is a go to yarn for me it's DK although they do this wool in chunky, 4ply, baby and lots of others and all the ones I have bought I am more than pleased with.

Above, here it is draped over my bed, though it's no a double blanket it's a lovely size and this stitch gives it a deceiving weight, you would think it was a thicker wool and I love the weight as well.

Freddy liked this one as well *smiles* until next time, be crafty. Dawn xx

Fun to be crocheting.

 This is Freddy

Isn't he just a cutie? lol I went to my friends house and her little grandson was there, I had some crochet blankets/afghans with me and we had a little photo session. What a little star he was:) he laughed and played with the blankets he just crawled everywhere  I had so much fun taking photos of this little one I can tell you.

I have missed blog land very much. So I thought I would give this another go and start by maybe publishing once or twice a week just to let you all know how I'm doing with the craft of crochet among other stitching goodness.

This stitch is called 'Pineapple Stitch' I found it HERE I can't find the challenge I used, but the link leads you a scarf pattern and you can just extent this pattern to make an afghan or keep it as a scarf, you're the crafter use your creativity.

Here you can now see the stitching much more clearly. I made a small pram/buggy blanket in bright DK ' Stylecraft Yarn ' I wanted the child to love the bright red & yellow and then tone it down with the blue and beige colours. I hope you have enjoyed this post, there are lots more to come so keep popping back for sewing & crochet projects. Be Crafty, love Dawn xx
